UNIQUE TALENTS:

KNOWN FOR:
Feeling deeply, intense work ethic, an “all-or-nothing” mentality

PERSONALITY TRAITS:

Quick to take action and usually a very high energy person, this is an archetype that gets things done. They don’t sit around and complain. If they want something, they go after it. If they don’t like something, they change it. Because of their high energy, they work tirelessly towards their goals and can often find themselves exhausted. This comes from earlier experiences of not feeling good enough. While this feeling takes many different forms as a cheetah develops into a fully formed adult, this theme will play out in different ways until the cheetah is able to learn how to develop the skills it needs.

To counter these early feelings of not feeling smart or capable or good enough, a cheetah learns how to be resourceful and get things done. They love to master new skills and become quite competitive. They become highly reliable. If you want something done, ask a cheetah archetype.

Cheetahs make quick decisions and they spring into action like no other archetype, but they can also be impulsive. This can be sometimes positive and sometimes negative. An unhealthy cheetah can start many different projects and then be unclear on their direction, as they didn’t take the time to plan or think things through. As a cheetah learns to cultivate healthier habits, they learn to map out work and life so that they have more foresight and a clear plan before just diving in.

Cheetahs value excitement, so they like to keep things light. Because they normally have an intensity with work, they tend to have a light and playful personality to balance things out. It takes a lot to upset a cheetah, but when they do get upset, all the pent up frustration comes out and they can go full tilt, taking a while to calm down. Cheetahs, that are underdeveloped in terms of healthy behaviors tend to turn a conversation around to them a lot – it’s that “look at me” behavior – saying “I can do things well too!” Which can be off-putting for those around a cheetah, as it makes people feel like the cheetah is being competitive or even dismissive at times. Once a cheetah learns to master their emotions and develop in a healthy way, this need to compete and be heard will dissipate and they will truly be able to be happy for other’s successes.

WHEN TRIGGERED:

The cheetah is usually calm and peaceful, unless it needs to spring into action. When triggered, this action or reaction is usually intense. While it takes a lot to upset a cheetah, it will likely trigger a big reaction. This extreme reaction can be quite shocking for their partner and those around them, who are usually expecting the light and joyful version of them. Because of this deep rooted feeling of not feeling good enough, emotions are felt deeply. It will usually take a cheetah a while to calm down, which can alienate those around them as their reactions can be quite extreme. Cheetahs tend to take time to reflect on what was upsetting and are comfortable communicating to ensure further issues are avoided. Once cooled off, a cheetah can bounce back quickly to its jovial and playful state of mind and get back to the business of getting things done.

An underdeveloped cheetah will think their reaction is quite normal, not realizing that the magnitude of their response actually far outweighs the event at hand. It can take a while for a cheetah to develop healthier reactions and to understand how to manage their response when triggered so that it is more appropriate to the upsetting event.

In less extreme circumstances, a cheetah will feel like they are not loved unless they are perfect or look or behave a certain way. As a cheetah learns how to heal their heart and their unconscious beliefs, they will come to learn that they are perfect and they are loved as they are, however and wherever they are in their journey.

HOW IT MAY BLOCK YOU:

Cheetahs are quick to action so they can be impulsive. Until a cheetah learns to understand its nature and learns the tools to master this archetype, a cheetah will easily push people away and run.

In relationships, cheetahs are a lot of fun, but when triggered, they can be quite dramatic, which is a lot for their partner and close relations.

A cheetah will take a long time to calm down after a dispute, which can be challenging for those in relationship with them.

Cheetahs at work can go till exhaustion. They don’t fully understand the concept of balance and do things at quite an intense pace. A cheetah will need to learn the skills to understand their patterns of behavior so they don’t work themselves tirelessly.

MASTERING YOUR ARCHETYPE:

On the pathway to mastering this personality archetype, the cheetah will learn that they don’t always have to drive themselves so hard. They will also learn to be more understanding of others as not everyone can go at a cheetah’s pace. These lessons include understanding where the unconscious belief began, how the life block gets triggered, what the various reactions could be before healing, and how to make new choices when healed. So the cheetah eventually learns that they are more than enough. They will learn that they don’t always have to compete for attention, that they are loved and appreciated just as they are and that certainty finally brings the inner peace they seek. The cheetah will become whole and complete again.
